Where dreams come true...

The amazing space I present to you below is, very simply, where dreams come true, where sketches come to life and where concepts and ideas dance out of one's imagination and overflow into the real world that tantalises the hungry depths of our senses. I speak of the magic that is none other than The Establishment Studios in Melbourne. Headed up by the talented duo, Rachael Hart and Glen Proebstel, this designer heaven extends its services to include studio hire, event styling and prop hire.

I only very recently came across this incredible wonderland via one of my all-time favourite Australian blogs, The Design Files, and absolutely had to, HAD TO, share it with you. It is very simply a playground for one's imagination, where anything is possible! What amazes me is the plethora of styling goodies that are on offer , not only of props and furniture, but spaces and textures... oh how I love their rugged textures...

What an ideal world Rachel and Glen have created... if you can dream it, you can realise it here. Spaces can be as opulent as a king's castle or as simple as a shy lamp against the planks of softly peeling wooden wall panels. Every object has a character, a presence, a soft whisper...

Colour & style inspired by worldly travels

Lucy Fenton does colour very, very well. In fact, Lucy Fenton is the lucky creator and owner Fenton & Fenton furniture & design store in Melbourne's funky Prahran 'quartier', and what's more, she lives above her delectable shop... meaning what? Well, she indulges endlessly in swapping and borrowing designer pieces from her shop to adorn her 'chic' apartment. What a smart girl? I love this idea...

As she herself describes on her website, her style and ideas were born from a multitude of travels around Europe and India, and this is really so evident when you see both her home in the below pics, and her website. Her website is really great and one of the best I've seen recently, I promise you that just her home page is enough to inspire you. You can check it out here.

And when it comes to her home, I just love the way in which vintage is married with colour, simplicity with decadence, and soft pastels with wood that has made its way in her home from different parts of the world.

Perfection, hidden in a Melbourne warehouse loft

In the swanky Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy, The Design Files (one of the trendiest of trendy blogs) have gotten the low-down on the gloriously stunning loft apartment of John Parker. Parker, a high-end furniture trader and now the director and founder of Melbourne's Format Furniture, has probably spent years of, not only rubbing shoulders with, but also influencing some of the best designers in the world... all the while capturing all there is to know about the most desired furniture styles and trends. This has clearly paved some cobbles in the way towards the distinctive character that adorns his beautiful loft home.

The space is sensational! A world beyond our world, an escape whereby coming home would be the highlight of any day and any further detachment sourly viewed upon. The Daily Files have likened the space to that of the land of Peter Pan. I agree completely! The rainbow of perfectly matched colours, the fearlessness of the vastly different yet complimenting trends, and the beautiful simplicity behind the tower of books or the mischievous cactus, invites an attraction that is gloriously and overwhelmingly welcome. Moreover, and what I find most magnetic about the space, is the light streaming in and the overall element of fun that, together, emancipate the soul and the eye.
