When I came across the first image below (or to the right if you're on the home page / the one with the deliciously floral wall treatment), my heart did a backflip with excitement. For someone like myself, who is a devoted minimalist lover, being transfixed by so much colour is not an everyday event. So, naturally, the next step was to find out more about who had created this incredibly fun, sophisticated and succulent setting, and thus my pursuit led me to the incredibly talented duo, Jannicke Krakvik & Alessandro D'Orazio. They specialise in developing ideas, concepts and unique set designs, while also working as consultants on interior design projects for both individuals & businesses. Their company, Krakvik & D'Orazio, is based in Oslo, Norway. More undeniably exquisite inspiration from the north of Europe. Love it!!
The images I have selected below are just some of a vast collection of work that Krakvik & D'Orazio have undertaken for editorial projects, but there are so many more gems like these on their funky website. I, personally, spent several hours perusing their magnificent styling editorials. As I'm knee-deep at home in deciding how to perfectly style out new little Sydney abode, their ideas are 'oh-so-welcome' right now!
I love the humbleness in the styling. The perfect ambience is achieved with dedication, not to a plethora of objects, but to several key accessories, a perfectly refreshing wall treatment and a choice of furniture that mixes modern pieces with what appear to be ruggedly sexy second hand objects. Each of the below interiors exudes a calming harmony of perfectly put together pieces and oozes sophistication in the treatment of each frame falling within the boundary of the camera's objective. Now let's see if I manage to reproduce some of this emotion in my Sydney pad...
